Volvo Wagon was sweeeeeeet.
This was this region’s first Rallycross event. 50+ entrants competed. A lot of first timers entering. Awesome turnout. Huge thanks to the missus for snapping some photos and videos.
Ten entrants competed in the Stock FWD class. Focus ST (2 drivers) , Mazda6, Focus ZXT, Civic, Stratus R/T (2 drivers) , Hyundai, and a Fiat 500. Took first in the class!!
Currently developing the GoPro videos. Will have them up later.

That’s a lot of pressure. I am not ready for that.

I am glad as well. I hope NEOhio picks it up and runs more events.

If I recall, didn’t you rallycross a buick roadmaster wagon?

What made you choose a transit van? Irony?

That van projects some big dick energy on that dirt.

When I took a new job at Ford, I had to turn my company lease back to my old job. I knew I wanted something Ford, and either a cheap Ranger or any Ford van. I could not fit into any of the Rangers I came across, and my dream of owning a stick shift Aerostar is nearly impossible. I came across this van at a dealer, and couldn’t pass it up. I tried to find an inexpensive wagon with the seats in the back, but none fell under $15k. This was a hair under $10k. Coincidentally, the empty cargo area provides an advantage when Rallycrossing: less weight, and a lighter rear end to move around.

Well, unless your boinking a size queen it’s largely irrelevant, but people respond positively to that kind of thing, so it’s a good thing overall.

Oh ok so you daily this and rally cross it? It seems to sit low for a van. It’s not top heavy at all tho ? Congrats for first in class btw

Yup, daily and racer, that’s why I plan on keeping it stock. It’s exactly tall as it is wide, so it’s allowed to compete. Since there are no racks or drawers in the back, most of the weight is at the bottom of the van. Inside is barren, not even a roof liner. Thanks buddy! My first class win.

Very cool and very practical. And plenty of room to put in a rocket engine in the back in the future should you choose!
